ICIWaRM takes part in 10th World General Assembly International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO)
ICIWaRM Director Bob Pietrowsky took part in the 10th World General Assembly of the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO) in Merida, Mexico, June 1-4. Bob is a board member of the North American Network of Basin Organizations (NANBO), which is a regional network of INBO. NANBO, like INBO, promotes global management of water resources at the river basin level, bringing together citizens and government organizations in charge of the management of water resources and river basin management in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Bob was a panelist in the session on Adaptation to Climate Change in Basins. His talk highlighted Collaborative Risk Informed Decision Analysis (CRIDA)—a bottom-up approach to integrated water resources management under multiple stressors, including climate change. He also described the Shared Vision Planning approach to water management, including stakeholder engagement, a comprehensive planning process and systems modeling.
