Water Cooperation and Diplomacy Master’s Program Marks First Graduation Day

ICIWaRM’s university partner Oregon State University, IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, and the University for Peace in Costa Rica, are pleased to announce the graduation of their first Water Cooperation and Diplomacy Master students.

This joint master’s program, developed by the three institutions, gives participants a strong theoretical and applied understanding of peace and conflict studies and of water management and governance, along with hands-on training in water dispute resolution processes.

An important element of the program at OSU is the collaborative project undertaken by the students jointly as a group. This research project may be conducted within the scope of activities of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as part of ICIWaRM.  (OSU was a founding partner of ICIWaRM.) Completion of the project can give students an opportunity to experience an interdisciplinary working environment, and help prepare them for real-world collaboration on water-related projects.

More information on the program is available at OSU’s Water Cooperation and Diplomacy program website or https://www.waterdiplomacymaster.org/ .
